What is ergonomics?

Ergonomics is the science of designing machines, products, and systems to maximize the safety, comfort, and efficiency of the people who use them.

PCA is committed to raising awareness about the importance of ergonomics in the work place. Injuries related to poor ergonomic conditions, which can result in loss of productivity, are preventable. With the right information and equipment, your workplace can avoid injury caused by poor posture, repetitive movements and unnecessary strain.

Task Seating Solutions

The chair is an essential component in ensuring optimal comfort and support for the back, hips, knees and arms. PCA offers task specific seating solutions to help maximize both comfort and productivity in the workplace.

Task Lighting

A well-designed task light will cast the right amount of glare free light on a work surface, and can easily be repositioned for different tasks. Task lighting is also better for the environment than most light sources because they use low energy consumption. Ask us to explain the benefits of choosing lighting that works for you.

Monitor Positioning

Proper monitor positioning prevents unnecessary strain to the neck and shoulders. This can be avoided by mounting a CPU or flat screen monitor onto an adjustable arm.

Comfortable Seating

When sitting at your desk, your feet should be on a foot rest or planted firmly on the floor.

A slightly reclined chair posture is best to reduce vertebrae pressure and minimize lower back pain.
